Notes from the edge of the world: A Tree Grows in Hawai'i

I found this tree in a strange abandoned residential development (or undevelelopment as it were). It's odd to see how life flourishes on the Big Island. Here, at the edge of new earth, wedged in lava, life literally takes root. It's humbling and inspiring.
