The Treaty of Tripoli

The next time someone spouts off to you that America was founded as a Christian nation pull out the words "Treaty of Tripoli" and see if they have any idea what you're talking about. Ratified by the Senate and signed by John Adams in 1797, Article 11 of this little treaty begs to differ with this misguided belief. Oh, and it was ratified by unanimous vote.
